  4. Neither, Nancy. But what I remember was that memorable. It was an amazing trip. I hope this will help you in your planning. Thanks for the comment.

I wish I'd have done a Oaxaca post before you two went! Oh well, we post what we can when we can!

Quite the storm this morning, wasn't it?

  5. What a wonderful blog. We would like to do this trip and after reading about your experience it is high on the list. Would you be willing to share what someone could anticipate spending on a trip like this? Thanks

  6. Dear "Anonymous,"

We were three people and the trip as we did it cost about US$1500. Prices are all online via the links I posted. El Chepe (the train) was 934 pesos per person each way in first class. Hotel room for 3 people varied from 862 pesos/night to 2600 pesos at one place (including meals and shuttle). Remember this was high season (Holy Week). Hope that helps.

  7. Wow! What wonderful photos and great coverage of your trip. We were in the Copper Canyon in October of 2009 and really loved it. We are eager to return. How lucky you were to have been there for the holiday! LL

  9. Thank you for the information about the prices--It puts it into the realm of possibility for us! I've got your blog bookmarked, for this information and to read more. Enjoyed it very much.
